Job Title: MEP Engineer (Site & Execution)

Role Overview:
As an MEP Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. You will ensure that all MEP works are executed according to the approved drawings, project specifications, and safety standards while coordinating closely with civil teams to prevent structural conflicts.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Site Execution & Supervision
- On-site Management: Supervise the installation of HVAC, fire fighting, plumbing, and electrical systems (LV/HV panels, wiring, lighting).
- Civil Coordination: Work closely with the Civil Engineering team to ensure MEP "sleeves" and conduits are placed correctly before concrete pouring.
- Sub-contractor Management: Oversee MEP sub-contractors, ensuring they deploy adequate manpower and follow the project timeline.
2. Technical Review & Compliance
- Drawing Review: Review Shop Drawings, As-Built drawings, and Material Submittals to ensure they align with the master architectural plan.
- Standards Adherence: Ensure all installations comply with local building codes, fire department regulations, and international standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, or NEC).
- RFI Management: Raise and track Requests for Information (RFIs) to resolve any design discrepancies found on-site.
3. Quality Control & Testing
- Inspection: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship quality and material usage are as per the contract.
- Testing & Commissioning: Lead the testing of systems (e.g., hydro-testing for pipes, pressure testing for HVAC, and insulation resistance tests for electricals) before handover.
- Snag Listing: Identify defects and manage the "snag list" to ensure every system is 100% functional before project completion.
4. Progress Reporting & Material Estimation
- Quantity Surveying: Verify the quantities of MEP materials consumed on-site and certify sub-contractor bills.
- Daily/Weekly Reports: Provide detailed progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting any delays or technical bottlenecks.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 3–6 years of experience in MEP execution, preferably with a Real Estate Contractor or MEP Consultancy.
- Software Skills: * Proficiency in AutoCAD (to read and minorly edit drawings).
- Familiarity with MS Project or Primavera for scheduling.
- MS Office (Excel) for quantity take-offs.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of HVAC systems, PHE (Plumbing & Health Engineering), Fire Protection systems, and Electrical layouts.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Conflict Resolution: Minimal "re-work" caused by MEP systems clashing with civil structures.
- Timeline Adherence: Completion of MEP milestones within the stipulated project phases.
- Handover Success: Zero major defects during the final testing and commissioning phase.
