The A.C. Technician is responsible for inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air conditioning systems installed in electric buses and depot facilities. The role ensures proper cooling performance, passenger comfort, and smooth operation of HVAC systems while maintaining safety and operational standards within the EV depot.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair A.C./HVAC systems of electric buses.
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of bus air conditioning units.
- Check refrigerant gas pressure, leakage, compressor condition, cooling efficiency, and electrical connections.
- Inspect condensers, evaporators, blowers, filters, ducts, and thermostats regularly.
- Maintain proper functioning of depot A.C. systems, if assigned.
- Identify electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems and rectify them promptly.
- Ensure safe handling of refrigerants and tools as per safety guidelines.
- Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams for timely bus availability.
- Maintain daily service records, maintenance logs, and repair reports.
- Follow company SOPs, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Assist during emergency breakdowns and depot operational requirements.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of automotive A.C./HVAC systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with electric buses and EV components preferred.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment.
- Understanding of refrigerant handling and safety procedures.
- Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Educational Qualification:
- ITI/Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning / Electrician / Mechanical Trade.
- Certification in HVAC systems preferred.
Experience Required:
- 1–3 years of experience in automotive A.C. maintenance or HVAC systems.
- Experience in electric buses or commercial vehicles will be an added advantage.
Working Conditions:
- Work involves depot operations, bus inspections, and field breakdown support.
- May require rotational shifts and emergency duty support.
