Job Summary
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency of all plant machinery, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure through preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. The role focuses on minimizing machine downtime, improving equipment reliability, maintaining safety standards, and supporting uninterrupted production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
- Execute preventive maintenance as per the maintenance schedule.
- Attend machine breakdowns and restore operations within the targeted downtime.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring machine failures.
- Ensure timely repair and replacement of machine components.
- Maintain maintenance records, logs, and history sheets.
Machine & Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain production machinery such as:
- Hydraulic Press Machines
- Power Press Machines
- Welding Machines
- Grinding Machines
- Drilling & Tapping Machines
- Air Compressors
- Material Handling Equipment
- Perform alignment, lubrication, calibration, and routine inspections.
- Monitor machine health to improve equipment reliability.
Utility Maintenance
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of:
- Air Compressors
- Electrical Panels
- DG Sets
- Water Pumps
- Lighting Systems
- Plant Utilities
- Monitor energy consumption and recommend improvements.
Spare Parts & Inventory
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory.
- Raise purchase requisitions for required spare parts.
- Coordinate with the Purchase Department for timely procurement.
- Ensure proper storage and identification of maintenance materials.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for machine modifications and productivity improvement.
- Implement Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and preventive maintenance initiatives.
- Support cost reduction and energy-saving projects.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during maintenance activities.
- Follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE while performing maintenance work.
- Maintain housekeeping in the maintenance workshop.
Documentation
- Prepare:
- Preventive Maintenance Checklists
- Breakdown Reports
- Machine History Cards
- Daily Maintenance Reports
- Monthly Maintenance MIS
- Maintain calibration and maintenance records for audits.
Qualifications
- Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics.
- Certification in Industrial Maintenance, PLC, Hydraulics, or Pneumatics will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in maintenance of manufacturing machinery.
- Experience in welding equipment manufacturing or engineering industries is preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
