Job Summary
The Fitter Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure smooth and uninterrupted plant operations. The role requires adherence to safety standards, preventive maintenance schedules, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), while maintaining proper documentation of all maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities1. Installation & Commissioning
- Install, assemble, test, and commission mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Assist in the installation of new production equipment and utility systems.
- Ensure proper alignment, fitting, and functioning of mechanical components.
2. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance as per maintenance schedules.
- Attend equipment breakdowns and restore operations with minimum downtime.
- Replace worn-out or damaged mechanical parts such as bearings, seals, belts, couplings, and valves.
3. Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Diagnose mechanical faults in pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, conveyors, and other equipment.
- Carry out repairs using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurring failures.
4. Mechanical Equipment Management
- Maintain production and utility equipment in good working condition.
- Monitor the performance of mechanical systems and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure optimum utilization of spare parts and maintenance tools.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, and engineering standards.
- Identify unsafe conditions and report potential hazards immediately.
6. Documentation
- Maintain preventive maintenance records, breakdown reports, and equipment history cards.
- Update maintenance logbooks and spare parts usage records.
- Prepare daily maintenance reports and submit them to the reporting manager.
Qualifications
- ITI – Fitter (Mandatory)
- Additional technical certification will be an added advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
