We PNC COGNITO SCHOOL are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Associate Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for students. The Associate Teacher will assist in planning and implementing educational activities, managing the classroom, and supporting individual student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
- Support classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning objectives.
- Help prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Monitor and assess student behavior and progress.
- Supervise students during meals, recess, field trips, and transitions.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
- Uphold school policies and ensure student safety at all times.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred.
- Prior experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current teaching assistant or paraprofessional certification.
- Experience with Montessori preferred
- School-based setting with frequent interaction with children.
- Requires physical activity including lifting, standing, and active supervision.
