Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Purchase Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Bengaluru. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, vendor management, procurement planning, and ensuring timely availability of materials required for production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure raw materials, components, and consumables as per production requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors and suppliers.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate commercial terms.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up with suppliers.
- Coordinate with production, stores, quality, and logistics teams for material planning.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Track deliveries and ensure timely receipt of materials.
- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, and purchase documentation.
- Resolve supplier-related issues regarding quality, delivery, and pricing.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain functions within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of vendor management, sourcing, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings.
- Cost analysis and budgeting knowledge.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
