Designation: Radiology Technician
Department: Radiology
Reporting To: Radiologist / Medical Superintendent
Purpose of the Job
To perform diagnostic imaging procedures safely and accurately while ensuring patient safety, radiation protection, and compliance with NABH standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform imaging procedures such as X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound (as per training & authorization).
- Verify patient identity and imaging requisition before procedure.
- Position patients correctly and ensure patient comfort.
- Operate radiology equipment following safety and quality protocols.
- Follow radiation safety (ALARA principles) and use protective devices.
- Maintain imaging records, films, and reports properly.
- Ensure infection control and cleanliness in the radiology area.
- Report equipment faults or incidents to concerned authority.
- Assist Radiologist during special procedures when required.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical conduct.
Quality & Safety
- Follow hospital policies, SOPs, and NABH guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and training programs.
Qualification
- Diploma / Degree in Radiology / Medical Imaging Technology
- Experience as per hospital policy
