Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of the company’s finance, accounting, reporting, and statutory compliance functions.
The ideal candidate will have strong financial expertise, excellent knowledge of regulatory and taxation requirements, and the ability to manage financial operations across a real estate business. This role requires a strategic thinker who can strengthen financial controls, optimize cash flow, and provide accurate financial insights to management.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Accounting
- Manage the full spectrum of financial and cost accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), budgeting, and forecasting.
- Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations to ensure smooth business continuity.
- Supervise the complete set of books and ensure accurate and timely monthly and annual closing of accounts.
- Review and approve journal entries, payment vouchers, and other financial transactions.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records.
Financial Reporting & Cash Flow Management
- Prepare monthly MIS reports and consolidated financial statements for management review.
- Monitor daily payments and effectively manage cash flow and liquidity.
- Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts and conduct budget-versus-actual variance analysis.
- Work closely with operations and project teams to analyze project costs, margins, and financial performance.
- Provide management with meaningful financial insights to support business and project-level decision-making.
Compliance, Audit & Internal Controls
- Lead and coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, and tax-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, taxation requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal financial controls and accounting policies.
- Identify financial risks and implement appropriate control measures.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks, and other financial institutions as required.
Group Finance & Intercompany Coordination
- Work closely with the Group Finance Controller on financial reporting and group-level finance matters.
- Ensure appropriate intercompany cost allocations in accordance with management agreements and applicable policies.
- Support group reporting, financial consolidation, and related finance initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA in Finance, or Master of Commerce (M.Com).
- Experience: 8–15 years of relevant experience in a senior finance or financial controller role.
- Strong experience in financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, audit, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in the real estate or construction industry will be highly valued.
- Retired bank officers and senior banking professionals with relevant corporate finance experience are encouraged to apply.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and MS Excel.
- Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, financial analysis, and financial modeling.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting.
- Good understanding of real estate project costing and financial management.
- Strong knowledge of commercial compliance and applicable taxation laws.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management abilities.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability.
