Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of our MSME company. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, GST, TDS, compliance, banking, and financial reporting.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate books of accounts, managing statutory compliance, monitoring receivables and payables, coordinating with auditors and tax consultants, and providing timely financial information to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain day-to-day accounting records, including sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and supported by documentation.
- Handle GST compliance, including preparation/reconciliation of GST data and coordination for timely filing of returns.
- Manage TDS calculations, deductions, payments, and return filing.
- Prepare and maintain invoices, purchase bills, expense records, debit/credit notes, and other financial documents.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable, including customer collections and vendor payments.
- Regularly reconcile bank accounts, customer accounts, vendor accounts, and ledgers.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up with concerned customers/vendors when required.
- Maintain proper records for cash and bank transactions.
- Prepare monthly and periodic Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheet, cash-flow reports, MIS, and other management reports.
- Assist management in monitoring cash flow, working capital, expenses, and financial performance.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and other external financial professionals.
- Support statutory and tax audits by providing required documents, schedules, reconciliations, and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, taxation, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial and statutory records.
- Assist with payroll-related accounting, employee reimbursements, and salary-related entries where required.
- Track fixed assets and maintain appropriate records.
- Review accounting entries and identify discrepancies, errors, or unusual transactions.
- Assist management with budgeting, cost control, financial analysis, and other finance-related requirements.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of company financial information.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an MSME, trading, manufacturing, services, or similar business environment.
- Strong knowledge of Tally / Tally Prime and Microsoft Excel.
- Good working knowledge of GST, TDS, income tax, and statutory compliance.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Experience in bank, customer, and vendor reconciliation.
- Ability to independently manage day-to-day accounting operations.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.
Preferred Candidate
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the company's accounting function rather than only performing data-entry work. The candidate should be capable of independently handling routine accounting, reconciliations, statutory compliance coordination, financial reporting, and day-to-day finance-related activities.
Experience working directly with business owners or management in an MSME environment will be an added advantage.
