Profile: Sr. Power Electronics Engineer
Experience:
6-10 years of hands-on experience in power electronics and electronic hardware design. Proven experience in taking power-electronics products from concept and architecture through prototyping, validation, debugging, and production. Experience in SMPS, power conversion, analog control, magnetics, high-frequency/high-voltage circuits, and hardware debugging. Roles:
Lead end-to-end electronic hardware development — from requirements and architecture through design, prototyping, validation, and transfer to manufacturing. Own the power electronics architecture for medical devices: topology selection, specification, design, simulation, and validation of AC-DC, DC-DC, and energy-delivery stages. Design
switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) — flyback, forward, LLC, push-pull, PFC — and
high-frequency/high-voltage energy generators for electrosurgical and shockwave applications. Design closed-loop control for power stages (analog and digital), including compensation, current/voltage sensing, and adaptive energy control. Lead magnetics design and specification (transformers, inductors) for isolation, efficiency, and thermal performance. Ensure designs meet IEC 60601-1 for creepage/clearance, patient isolation, leakage current, and single-fault safety. Drive EMI/EMC design and pre-compliance debugging to pass IEC 60601-1-2 and CISPR limits. Perform worst-case, thermal, and reliability analysis (derating, MTBF, safe operating area). Guide PCB layout of power stages with the PCB team — loop area, thermal relief, isolation barriers, high-current routing. Lead prototype bring-up, characterization, and root-cause debugging using power analyzers, oscilloscopes, and electronic loads. Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, and root cause analysis. Own design documentation for the design history file (DHF), design reviews, and design transfer to production. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; set and enforce power-electronics design standards and best practices. Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, compliance, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, certifiable products on schedule. Qualification:
Bachelor//'s or Master//'s degree in
Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related engineering field. Strong technical understanding of power electronics, circuit design, power conversion, and electronic hardware development.
