Ward Nurse provides care for a wide-range of Gynae and Obstetric conditions and newborns who are admitted.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. In addition to basic nursing care, carries responsibilities in collaboration with the Senior Nurse Executive which includes:
1. Provides age appropriate care for Peadiatrics and newborns.
2. Takes handover from the outgoing staff based on the allotment of patients.
3. Takes inventory of the area instruments and articles as per the responsibility allotted by the Lead Nurse specialist.
4. Reports to the Lead Nurse Specialist/ Specialist Nursing Care/ Senior Nurse Executive problem faced in caring and safety of the patients.
5. Monitors and adjusts specialized and routine biomedical equipments used for the care of the patients.
6. Monitor vital parameters,height weight and anthoprometric measurements
7. Dispatches the specimen to the laboratory for analysis after completion of the procedure and maintains records.
8. Provide lactation support for mother and encourage and support Kangaroo mother care
9. Takes responsibility in maintaining the equipments to the best of usage and reports to higher authority if breakdown happens.
10. Assists treating consultant during examination, treatment and procedures, which can include life-saving situations.
11. Provides education, information and emotional support to the patient’s family and caregivers based on the need.
12. Displays professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner.
13. Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
14. Ensure patient safety and quality of care as per protocol
15. Practice nursing code of ethics
16. Attend in-service education as per schedule
17. Report incidents
