We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented CSSD Technician to join our Central Sterile Supply Department and support infection prevention and patient safety initiatives.
Position Summary
The CSSD Technician will be responsible for the cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, storage, and distribution of medical instruments and supplies used across the hospital. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, clean, disinfect, inspect, assemble, pack, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and other sterilizers.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and distribution of sterile supplies.
- Maintain sterilization records, logs, and documentation as per hospital protocols.
- Perform routine checks and quality control tests for sterilization processes.
- Identify damaged or malfunctioning instruments and report them appropriately.
- Follow infection prevention and control guidelines at all times.
- Coordinate with Operation Theatre, Nursing, and other departments regarding instrument requirements.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the CSSD area.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificate in CSSD Technology or Operation Theatre Technology.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in CSSD operations preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications may also apply.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices.
- Familiarity with autoclaves and sterilization equipment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
