A New Product Engineer in the fasteners department designs, develops, and tests mechanical fastening solutions—such as bolts, screws, and rivets—from initial concept through manufacturing. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product reliability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards
- Design & Modeling: Create precise 3D models and technical drawings of fasteners using CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Prototyping & Testing: Build and test prototypes for tensile strength, durability, corrosion resistance, and load capacity.
- Material Selection: Choose appropriate metals, alloys, and coatings based on application demands (e.g., automotive, aerospace, industrial).
- Process Optimization: Oversee pilot production runs and solve manufacturing or tooling issues on the shop floor.
- Documentation: Prepare product specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM), and APQP/PPAP compliance documentation.
