Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer with hands-on experience in SolidWorks and Sheet Metal design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing sheet metal components and assemblies for manufacturing, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and cost-effective production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T, dimensions, and BOM.
- Prepare fabrication drawings for laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
- Develop flat patterns and optimize designs for manufacturability.
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve design and fabrication issues.
- Review customer drawings and convert concepts into production-ready designs.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and engineering specifications.
- Support prototype development, testing, and design improvements.
- Maintain engineering documentation and revision records.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Sheet Metal, Weldments, and Drawing modules).
- Good knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, punching, and fabrication.
- Understanding of material selection, tolerances, and manufacturing standards.
- Ability to prepare accurate BOMs and engineering documentation.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
