Job description:
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC cylindrical grinding machines for internal and external grinding.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Select and mount grinding wheels, fixtures, and tools as per job requirements.
- Perform machine offsets and minor CNC program adjustments.
- Monitor machining processes to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Use measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
- Conduct in-process and final inspection of components.
- Maintain proper documentation of production and quality records.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure a clean working environment (5S).
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of cylindrical grinding (OD/ID grinding).
- Familiarity with CNC controls (Fanuc/Siemens preferred).
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Good understanding of tolerances, fits, and surface finishes.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for machine and process issues.
- Attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Certification in CNC machining or grinding (preferred).
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in cylindrical grinding (CNC or conventional).
- Experience in precision manufacturing or automotive/aerospace components preferred.
Working Conditions
- Shop floor environment with exposure to machines, noise, and coolant.
- Rotational shifts may be required.
