Position overview
We are seeking a proactive Junior Merchandiser cum Sample Coordinator to support our merchandising and sampling operations. The role combines coordination of development samples, communication with factories and vendors, and basic merchandising tasks to ensure timely product development and on-time shipments. This is an entry-level role reporting to the Merchandising Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Sample coordination: manage the end-to-end sample development process, including sample request logging, tracking, approval cycles, and documentation for lab dips, prototypes, trims, and size sets.
- Communication: act as the liaison between design, production, QA, and suppliers; communicate sample feedback, technical comments, and approval timelines clearly and promptly.
- Sample logistics: arrange pick-up/delivery of physical samples, coordinate couriers and customs paperwork for international shipments, maintain accurate sample inventory and location records.
- Tech pack support: assist in preparing and updating tech packs, BOMs (Bill of Materials), measurement sheets, and spec sheets under guidance from senior merchandisers.
- Order follow-up: monitor order status for small to medium orders, update tracking spreadsheets, and flag potential delays or quality issues to the Merchandising Manager.
- Quality checks: perform basic inspection of samples for fit, construction, and trim accuracy; document discrepancies and follow corrective actions.
- Vendor management: maintain supplier contact lists, sample lead-times, and vendor capability records; request quotations when required.
- Documentation & reporting: maintain accurate records of sample approvals, development timelines, and vendor communications; prepare weekly reports and dashboards for the merchandising team.
- Process improvement: suggest and help implement improvements for sample turnaround, tracking systems, and communication workflows.
- Ad-hoc duties: support trade show/sample room setup, photo shoots of samples, and any other merchandising-related tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Education: bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Technology, Apparel Production, Business, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 0–2 years in apparel/textile merchandising, sample coordination, or production coordination preferred. Fresh graduates with relevant internships are welcome.
- Technical skills: familiarity with tech packs, measurement/spec sheets, and basic garment construction terminology.
- Tools: proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; basic familiarity with ERP or PLM systems is a plus.
- Communication: strong written and verbal English skills; ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and overseas buyers/suppliers.
- Organization: excellent time-management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple sample timelines simultaneously.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
