Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Data Annotation Manager to lead and oversee data annotation operations supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing annotation teams, ensuring dataset quality, developing annotation standards, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality training data for AI model development.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Operations Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage data annotation teams to ensure productivity, quality, and timely project delivery.
- Allocate resources effectively and monitor team performance against established KPIs and SLAs.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and training programs to enhance team capabilities.
- Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Annotation Project Management
- Oversee end-to-end annotation projects involving text, image, audio, video, and multimodal datasets.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies to meet business objectives.
- Ensure annotation tasks are completed accurately and within defined deadlines.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to prioritize workloads and manage project deliverables.
Quality Assurance & Process Improvement
- Establish and maintain annotation guidelines, workflows, and quality standards.
- Implement quality control measures, audits, and review processes to ensure annotation accuracy and consistency.
- Analyze quality metrics and identify opportunities for process optimization.
- Investigate annotation discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Collaboration with AI/ML Teams
- Partner closely with Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Product Managers, and Operations teams to understand project requirements.
- Refine annotation taxonomies, ontologies, and labeling guidelines based on model performance and business needs.
- Address complex edge cases and provide recommendations for improving annotation methodologies.
- Support data preparation initiatives for model training, validation, and testing.
Tool & Vendor Management
- Manage annotation tools, platforms, and workflows to maximize operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend new annotation technologies and automation opportunities.
- Coordinate with external vendors and third-party annotation partners when applicable.
- Ensure tool configurations align with project requirements and quality standards.
Data Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to data privacy, confidentiality, and information security policies.
- Maintain compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.
- Monitor data handling practices to safeguard sensitive and proprietary information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data annotation, data operations, content moderation, or AI/ML data preparation.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience leading teams or managing annotation operations.
- Strong understanding of annotation methodologies for text, image, audio, video, and multimodal datasets.
- Experience working with AI/ML projects and training data pipelines.
- Proficiency in annotation platforms and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Pay: ₹700,000.00 per year
