Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially strong Procurement & Costing Executive for the switches manufacturing industry. The role will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, components, packaging materials, and vendor services at optimum cost, quality, and delivery timelines, while also preparing accurate product costing, BOM cost analysis, and margin improvement reports.
The ideal candidate should have experience in procurement planning, vendor development, price negotiation, cost sheet preparation, and ERP-based material management, preferably in electrical switches, sockets, plates, MCB accessories, or related electrical products.
Key Responsibilities
1) Procurement Responsibilities
Source and procure raw materials, bought-out parts, and packaging materials required for switch manufacturing.
Handle procurement of items such as brass parts, copper components, phosphor bronze parts, plastic granules, polycarbonate, urea moulding compound, screws, springs, contacts, terminals, rocker parts, plates, cartons, labels, and other switch accessories.
Float RFQs, compare quotations, negotiate prices, and finalize suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery terms.
Generate and process purchase orders as per production plans and inventory norms.
Coordinate with planning, production, QA, stores, and finance departments for smooth material flow.
Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid production stoppages.
Track supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
Maintain multiple approved vendors for critical components to reduce sourcing risk.
Support new vendor identification, vendor audits, and vendor development activities.
Monitor market trends and raw material price movements for cost-effective buying decisions.
2) Costing Responsibilities
Prepare detailed product cost sheets for existing and new switch models.
Calculate material cost, conversion cost, overhead allocation, packaging cost, and landed cost.
Analyze BOM-wise costing and validate actual vs standard cost.
Work closely with design/R&D and production teams for cost optimization during new product development.
Conduct cost variance analysis for raw materials, components, and finished goods.
Support pricing decisions by providing accurate cost and margin data.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering, alternate sourcing, and specification optimization.
Update costing records regularly in ERP/system as per revised rates or BOM changes.
Prepare reports on gross margin, product profitability, supplier rate changes, and cost-saving initiatives.
3) Inventory & Coordination
Monitor stock levels, reorder points, slow-moving items, and non-moving inventory.
Work with stores and production planning to maintain optimum inventory without excess carrying cost.
Ensure proper coordination for inward inspection, GRN, invoice matching, and supplier payment follow-up.
Resolve issues related to shortages, rejections, quality complaints, and delayed supplies.
4) Compliance & Documentation
Maintain procurement records, rate contracts, vendor agreements, comparative statements, and approval notes.
Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies, audit requirements, and statutory norms.
Support documentation related to quality and regulatory standards applicable to electrical products.
Ensure correct master data management for materials, vendors, UOM, lead times, and costing structures in ERP.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
Preferred qualification: Diploma / B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
Additional qualification in materials management, supply chain, costing, or finance will be an advantage.

2 to 5 years of relevant experience in procurement and costing, preferably in:
Electrical switches
Switchgear accessories
Wiring devices
Electrical components manufacturing
Consumer electrical products
Experience with BOM costing, vendor negotiation, ERP systems, and manufacturing procurement is essential.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
