Position Summary
The Costing Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the Engineering and Commercial teams by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for customer RFQs. This position is responsible for developing detailed quotations, maintaining engineering and costing data, and supporting cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of translating technical requirements into cost-effective solutions. Experience with manufacturing environments, wire harnesses/cable assemblies, and ERP systems is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Quotation & Cost Analysis
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing to develop accurate cost estimates and pricing for customer RFQs.
- Analyze material, labor, overhead, and process costs to ensure competitive and profitable quotations.
- Review customer drawings and specifications to identify cost drivers and risk factors.
Engineering & Documentation Support
- Create, update, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routing/operation methods within ERP systems (Epicor 10 preferred).
- Support creation of CAD drawings and production documentation as needed.
- Maintain and update engineering documents, logs, and controlled records.
Process Evaluation & Improvement
- Partner with Engineering Manager to evaluate manufacturing processes and identify cost reduction or efficiency improvement opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cost optimization and manufacturability.
Change Management and Documentation
- Review customer engineering changes, revisions, and updates.
- Revise cost estimates, BOMs, and quotations to reflect updated requirements.
- Perform document control activities, including creation, release, and revision of engineering drawings and production documentation packages.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and internal quality procedures
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, and Production to ensure alignment on cost assumptions and delivery expectations.
- Support special projects, NPI activities, and ad hoc assignments as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of experience in costing, estimating, or manufacturing engineering (preferably in Contract Manufacturing Assemblies, wire harness or cable assembly environment).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOM structures, and cost modeling.
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Familiarity with CAD tools and ability to interpret technical drawings.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
