Summary:
As an Operations Engineer, a typical day involves overseeing the smooth functioning of production systems and services, ensuring they meet operational requirements and service agreements. This role requires continuous monitoring, managing system performance, and addressing any issues that arise to maintain service reliability. Collaboration with various teams to coordinate activities and support operational goals is a key part of daily responsibilities, along with documenting processes and contributing to service improvement initiatives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
- Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.
- Monitor and maintain production systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational incidents and minimize downtime.
- Document operational procedures and update knowledge bases to support team efficiency.
- Assist in the implementation of process improvements to enhance service delivery.
- Support junior team members by sharing knowledge and providing guidance when needed.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Red Hat OS Administration.
- Experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting tools related to Red Hat environments.
- Strong understanding of Linux-based operating system architecture and command-line utilities.
- Ability to manage system configurations, patching, and updates in a production environment.
- Familiarity with scripting languages to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements for operating systems.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Red Hat OS Administration.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
