The Plant Head is a senior leadership role at Gloria Engineering Industries, a key vendor for Tata Motors Ltd. and M&M responsible for the full operational management, strategic direction, and continuous improvement of the manufacturing facility in Ambethan Chakan. Hewill oversee all areas of plant performance including production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, safety, environmental management, and energy efficiency. This role is instrumental in meeting customer requirements—particularly for press parts and welded assemblies—while ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and CQI-9, CQI-11, CQi-12 standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Operations Management
- Lead overall plant operations including Press Shop, Welding Shop, Tool Room, Powder Coating, Assembly, Dispatch, and Maintenance.
- Ensure smooth execution of daily production plans as per customer schedules.
- Drive productivity, capacity utilization, and operational excellence.
- Monitor plant KPIs including OEE, Rejection, PPM, COPQ, Productivity, and Delivery Performance.
2. Production Planning & Control
- Review production plans and ensure timely execution.
- Optimize manpower, machine utilization, and material availability.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and customer commitments.
- Coordinate with SCM, Production, QA, Maintenance, and Stores teams.
3. Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and IATF 16949 standards.
- Drive reduction in internal rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
- Review CAPA, 8D reports, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead customer audits and certification audits.
4. Manufacturing Engineering & Process Development
- Lead process planning for new and existing products.
- Review tooling requirements, welding fixtures, and process improvements.
- Drive automation and productivity enhancement projects.
- Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Validation activities.
5. New Product Development (NPD)
- Coordinate with customers and design teams for new product development.
- Ensure successful product launch within timeline and budget.
- Review manufacturing feasibility and cost optimization opportunities.
- Lead prototype development and trial production.
6. Tooling & Maintenance
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance systems are implemented.
- Monitor press tools, welding fixtures, and critical equipment performance.
- Minimize machine breakdowns and improve equipment reliability.
7. Cost Control & Productivity Improvement
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through Kaizen, VA/VE, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Improve labor productivity and machine efficiency.
- Monitor manufacturing costs and implement corrective actions.
8. Vendor Development & Supply Chain Coordination
- Develop and evaluate vendors for sheet metal, welding consumables, tooling, and bought-out components.
- Ensure supplier quality and delivery performance.
- Support cost reduction through alternate source development.
9. Team Management
- Lead cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, SCM, and Engineering.
- Develop second-line leadership and succession planning.
- Conduct performance reviews and skill development programs.
- Promote employee engagement and discipline.
10. Safety, Environment & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Promote zero accident culture.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and legal requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
Pay: ₹850,000.00 - ₹950,000.00 per year
