Job Summary
Father LeBlond School is seeking an experienced and dedicated Kitchen Manager to oversee the complete functioning of the School Kitchen and Dining Services. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, nutrition, safety, and service for students and staff residing on the boarding campus.
The role requires effective supervision of all kitchen personnel, proper management of food inventory and stores, maintenance of records, and ensuring that meals are prepared and served efficiently according to the approved menu and school standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
Kitchen Operations
- Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the school kitchen.
- Ensure timely preparation and service of meals for boarding students and staff.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Monitor adherence to approved menus and dietary requirements.
- Ensure proper utilization of kitchen equipment and resources.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate the work of cooks, assistant cooks, helpers, cleaners, and service staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and allocate responsibilities.
- Monitor staff performance and maintain discipline within the kitchen department.
- Train kitchen staff on hygiene, food safety, and operational procedures.
Hygiene & Food Safety
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, utensils, equipment, and storage rooms.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to sanitation protocols.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food items to prevent spoilage and wastage.
Store & Inventory Management
- Maintain complete records of kitchen stores and inventory.
- Monitor stock levels of food items, groceries, cleaning materials, and kitchen supplies.
- Verify receipt of materials and ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain stock registers, issue registers, and consumption records.
- Minimize wastage and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Coordinate with management for timely procurement of supplies.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to kitchen operations.
- Keep records of inventory, purchases, consumption, and wastage.
- Report maintenance requirements of kitchen equipment and facilities.
- Assist management during inspections and audits.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in kitchen management, catering operations, institutional kitchens, hotels, hostels, schools, or similar establishments.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and inventory management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
Compensation
- Salary: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience managing large-scale kitchens serving 200+ meals daily.
- Experience in boarding schools, hostels, hotels, hospitals, or institutional catering will be preferred.
- Ability to work in a disciplined residential school environment.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food quality, and student welfare.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
