About Soni Sapphire
Soni Sapphire is looking for an experienced and result-oriented HR Manager / Head HR to lead and manage the complete Human Resources function across our retail jewellery operations. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in handling both blue-collar and white-collar employees, managing large teams, resolving employee grievances, ensuring statutory compliance, and driving effective HR processes.
The candidate should be comfortable working in a retail environment with multiple stores, frontline employees, sales teams, housekeeping, security, back-office teams, and corporate staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Operations & Employee Management
- Manage the complete HR function for the organisation, covering retail stores and corporate/support teams.
- Handle the complete employee lifecycle from joining to exit.
- Develop and implement HR policies, processes, SOPs, and employee guidelines.
- Maintain proper employee records, documentation, attendance, leave, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary records.
- Ensure smooth coordination between management, store teams, and employees.
- Handle employee manpower planning and workforce requirements.
2. Employee Grievance & Conflict Handling
- Handle employee grievances professionally and ensure timely resolution.
- Manage conflicts between employees, managers, store teams, and departments.
- Conduct employee counselling and disciplinary proceedings wherever required.
- Investigate complaints related to misconduct, behavioural issues, absenteeism, workplace conflicts, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure fair and unbiased resolution of employee concerns.
- Build a positive employee-relations environment across all locations.
3. Blue-Collar & White-Collar Employee Management
- Strongly manage both blue-collar and white-collar workforce.
- Handle large frontline teams including sales staff, housekeeping, security, store support staff, and other operational employees.
- Understand the different HR requirements and challenges associated with retail and frontline workforce.
- Ensure discipline, attendance, performance, productivity, and employee engagement across different employee categories.
4. Payroll Management
- Manage and oversee the complete monthly payroll process through HRMS.
- Ensure accurate calculation of salary, attendance, leave, incentives, deductions, overtime, advances, and other components.
- Coordinate with Finance/Accounts for timely salary processing.
- Ensure proper handling of PF, ESIC, PT, TDS and other applicable statutory deductions.
- Resolve employee salary and payroll-related queries.
5. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure complete compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Manage PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages, Shops & Establishments, Payment of Wages, and other applicable labour compliances.
- Coordinate with consultants, government authorities, auditors, and other external agencies wherever required.
- Maintain proper statutory registers, records, returns, and documentation.
- Keep the organisation updated regarding changes in labour laws and HR compliance requirements.
6. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Lead recruitment for retail stores, corporate functions, and support teams.
- Work closely with department heads and store managers to understand manpower requirements.
- Manage recruitment agencies, consultants, job portals, references, and other hiring channels.
- Ensure timely closure of critical and bulk hiring requirements.
- Develop effective recruitment and selection processes.
- Monitor attrition and implement strategies for employee retention.
7. Performance Management
- Manage and improve the organisation's performance appraisal process.
- Coordinate with department/store heads for goal setting, performance reviews, and appraisals.
- Identify performance gaps and coordinate appropriate improvement plans.
- Develop HR metrics and reports to track employee performance, attrition, absenteeism, manpower cost, and other key indicators.
8. Employee Engagement & Retention
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives.
- Conduct employee interactions, feedback sessions, and satisfaction surveys.
- Identify key reasons for employee attrition and implement corrective measures.
- Develop employee recognition and retention initiatives.
- Promote a positive, disciplined, and professional work culture.
9. HR MIS & Reporting
- Prepare and present regular HR reports to senior management.
- Maintain and analyse HR MIS covering:
- Headcount
- Attrition
- Recruitment
- Absenteeism
- Payroll
- Manpower cost
- Employee grievances
- Compliance
- Leave and attendance
- Performance
- Provide management with actionable HR insights and recommendations.
10. HR Strategy & Leadership
- Act as a strategic HR partner to the management.
- Develop HR strategies aligned with business and retail expansion plans.
- Lead and mentor the HR team.
- Establish strong HR systems and processes across all stores and departments.
- Ensure consistency in HR practices across different locations.
- Support management in organisational restructuring, expansion, manpower planning, and employee-related decisions.
Required Qualification
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources, MA/Master's in HR, MSW (HR) or equivalent HR-related qualification.
- Bachelor's degree in any relevant discipline.
- Strong knowledge of HR operations, payroll, employee relations, and labour compliance.
Required Experience
- 7–8+ years of overall HR experience.
- Candidates with experience in retail, jewellery, hospitality, FMCG, fashion, lifestyle, or other large frontline workforce industries will be preferred.
- Must have experience managing 200+ employees.
- Strong experience in handling both blue-collar and white-collar employees.
- Should have independently handled employee grievances, payroll, compliance, recruitment, employee relations, and HR operations.
- Candidates who have worked as HR Manager, Senior HR Manager, HR Head, HRBP Lead, or similar leadership roles will be preferred.

We are looking for an HR professional who is hands-on, mature, people-oriented, and strong in execution. The candidate should be capable of independently managing HR operations for a large retail workforce and should have the confidence to interact with senior management, store managers, sales employees, support staff, security, housekeeping, and other frontline employees.
The candidate should not be limited to only recruitment or HR administration but must have end-to-end HR exposure with strong employee relations, payroll, compliance, grievance handling, and workforce management experience.
