Western Reload Inc. is a growing transportation and logistics company committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence. We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee and continuously improve our safety and compliance programs across our operations.
This is not a traditional safety position. We are looking for someone who enjoys building systems, improving processes, reducing risk, and helping create industry-leading safety programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain company safety policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and applicable state regulations
- Monitor driver qualification files and hiring compliance
- Oversee Hours of Service compliance and ELD monitoring
- Manage accident investigations and root cause analysis
- Review CSA scores and implement corrective action plans
- Conduct virtual safety audits
- Monitor medical certificates, license renewals, and annual MVR reviews
- Manage driver coaching, disciplinary actions, and safety performance programs
- Develop and deliver driver safety training
- Track key safety metrics, including accidents, violations, inspections, and claims
- Work closely with dispatch, operations, maintenance, and executive leadership
- Identify opportunities to improve safety performance and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of trucking safety management experience
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations
- Experience managing fleets of 50 or more commercial vehicles preferred
- Experience with CSA, DOT audits, DataQs, and compliance investigations
- Knowledge of driver qualification files, Hours of Service regulations, and accident management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities
- Experience creating SOPs and safety documentation
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and ELD platforms
- Insurance claims management
- Fleet maintenance compliance
