Qualifications
- BE / BTech in Chemical Engineering
- Diploma / PG Diploma in Industrial Safety (Mandatory)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Safety / HSE roles within hazardous chemical industries
- At least 5 years of experience in a chemical / agrochemical / pharmaceutical manufacturing plant
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, SOPs, and safety procedures in line with statutory and company standards
- Conduct and review HIRA, HAZOP, JSA, risk assessments, and other safety studies
- Ensure safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials
- Monitor work permits including confined space entry, hot work, and contractor safety
- Implement and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) systems
Statutory Compliance & Audits
- Ensure compliance with Factories Act, Environment Protection Act, MSIHC Rules, PESO, Boiler Act, Fire Safety Rules, and other applicable regulations
- Liaison with government authorities including Factory Inspectorate, GPCB/SPCB, PESO, DISH, and Fire Department
- Handle statutory inspections and ensure timely renewal of licenses and permits
- Prepare for and support internal, external, and regulatory safety audits
- Maintain statutory registers, records, and compliance documentation
Emergency Management & Incident Control
- Develop and implement On-Site Emergency Plans and disaster management systems
- Conduct mock drills, emergency response training, and safety awareness programs
- Investigate accidents, near-miss incidents, and unsafe conditions; implement CAPA
- Ensure availability, maintenance, and effectiveness of firefighting systems and safety equipment
Training & Safety Culture
- Conduct safety induction and periodic training for employees, contractors, and visitors
- Promote behavior-based safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead safety awareness campaigns and toolbox talks
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Indian safety laws and regulatory frameworks
- Expertise in chemical process safety and risk management
- Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills
- Ability to independently manage audits, inspections, and government liaison
- Proficient in MS Office and safety documentation systems
Salary
- As per company standard norms
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
