Spice Empress Restaurant is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis III to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist senior chefs in food preparation, maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, and ensure that all food is prepared according to the restaurant's quality standards. This role is ideal for candidates who are eager to learn and grow in the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes.
- Wash, peel, cut, and portion vegetables, meat, seafood, and other ingredients.
- Prepare basic food items under the supervision of senior chefs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items using FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies.
- Minimize food wastage and handle ingredients responsibly.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Good knife-handling and food preparation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience as a Commis, Kitchen Helper, or Trainee in a hotel or restaurant.
- Diploma or certificate in Hotel Management, Food Production, or Culinary Arts is preferred but not mandatory.
- Freshers with a passion for cooking are encouraged to apply.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month
