Job Summary:
The Associate Professor is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting research, mentoring students, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting departmental and institutional initiatives. The role requires academic leadership, scholarly activities, and active participation in accreditation, research, and industry engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and practical classes as per the curriculum.
- Develop course plans, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
- Conduct continuous assessment, examinations, and evaluation of student performance.
- Utilize innovative teaching methodologies and technology-enabled learning tools.
- Ensure effective implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE).
Research & Publications
- Conduct quality research in the relevant field of specialization.
- Publish research papers in reputed national and international journals.
- Guide undergraduate, postgraduate, and research projects.
- Apply for funded research projects, grants, and consultancy assignments.
- Promote innovation, patent filing, and interdisciplinary research activities.
Student Mentoring & Development
- Mentor students for academic, professional, and personal development.
- Guide students in projects, internships, competitions, and placements.
- Support students in higher education and career planning.
- Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and overall performance.
Curriculum Development
- Participate in curriculum design and revision activities.
- Develop industry-oriented course content aligned with emerging trends.
- Prepare study materials, laboratory manuals, and assessment tools.
Academic Administration
- Participate in departmental meetings and institutional committees.
- Assist in accreditation activities such as NBA, NAAC, and AICTE compliance.
- Maintain academic records and documentation.
- Support admission, examination, and student welfare activities.
Industry Collaboration
- Establish and maintain relationships with industries and professional bodies.
- Organize guest lectures, workshops, seminars, industrial visits, and FDPs.
- Facilitate internships and industry-sponsored projects.
Faculty Development
- Participate in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), conferences, and workshops.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and academic excellence within the department.
Qualification & Experience
Essential Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in the relevant discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
- First Class at Bachelor's and Master's level in the relevant branch.
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of teaching/research/industry experience, with at least 2 years post-Ph.D. experience as per AICTE/UGC norms.
- Demonstrated record of quality publications and academic contributions.
