GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Group Technical Manager at our client leads the design, development, and product launch of mechanical components and sub -assemblies to support New Product Development, Value Engineering, and Innovation programs. This job will require experience and knowledge in mechanical part design, material selection, processing, tooling design, and failure analysis. The incumbent will work with cross functional teams to deliver mechanical components and subsystems to support consumer vehicles, golf cars, utility vehicles, and connected solutions.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Lead the design process of vehicle related components and modules from concept to production
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert in the design and validation of entire project/ product and ensure timely delivery
- Leads and supports cross functional NPD teams by delivering mechanical components and subsystems assigned.
- Build departmental capabilities by developing less experienced engineers and creating standard work where needed.
- Drives overall project risk assessment (budget, schedule, scope) and mitigation plans.
- Drives technical rigors for all projects assigned (Specifications, DFMEA, DVP, Design Calculations, APQP, and Technical Design
Reviews).
- Leads cross functional team to align on product/subsystem requirements, DFMEAs, and DVPs.
- Creates and owns the Engineering Release Plan for all components, assemblies, installations, and Bills of Materials within
assigned programs
- Leads value engineering ideation activities
- Collaborate with Suppliers for Quotations, Cost Negotiations, Proto Build and owns PR/ PO process for Part Supply
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure Design For Manufacture.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or equivalent technical field of study.
Experience:
- Min. 13+ years of Experience
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Leadership of the mechanical design of sheet metal, casting, plastic components
- Able to effectively self-manage large projects
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills including 8D
- Pro/Engineer Creo or similar 3D Modeling Software
- DFMEA, DFM, DVP, and APQP
- Experienced in applying and understanding Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD), and other simulation
methods.
- Demonstrated ability to design plastic parts for common processes like injection molding, extrusion, compression molding, blow
molding, and vacuum/thermoforming.
- Demonstrated ability to design metal components for common processes like extrusion, stamping, die cast, welding, etc.
- Strong project management skills and aptitude

- Intermediate to Advance skills in MS Project & Excel

- Lead root cause analysis for field or manufacturing issues using structured methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, 8D).
- Ensure product compliance with relevant safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including reports, specifications, validation plans, and test reports.
