Role Overview
The Network Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the organization’s network infrastructure from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities. This role involves monitoring, and governing network security controls, ensuring compliance with security policies, and supporting incident response activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Security Management
- Audit, monitor, and manage network security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, proxies).
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and potential threats.
- Perform regular validation and review of firewall rules and network access controls.
2. Threat Monitoring & Incident Response
- Investigate and respond to network-related security incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
3. Vulnerability Management
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in mitigating them.
- Identify security weaknesses in network infrastructure and recommend remediation.
- Track and ensure timely closure of vulnerabilities.
4. Access Control & Compliance
- Enforce network access policies (NAC, segmentation, zero trust principles).
- Ensure compliance with internal security standards and regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
- Maintain audit logs and support internal/external audits.
5. Risk & Exception management
- Support in secure network design, including segmentation and defense-in-depth strategies to reduce the overall risk.
- Recommend enhancements to improve network security posture.
- Stay updated on emerging threats and technology trends.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain network security documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
- Prepare periodic security reports and dashboards.
- Provide metrics on incidents, vulnerabilities, and risk posture.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, IT, or related field
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in network security / cybersecurity
- Experience in enterprise environments (banking, manufacturing, IT services preferred)
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco)
- IDS/IPS systems
- VPN technologies
- Network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Risk assessment
- Vulnerability management tools (Qualys, Nessus)
- Network monitoring tools
- Good understanding of:
- Zero Trust Architecture
- Network segmentation
- Cloud network security (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Preferred Certifications
- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- CCNA / CCNP Security
- CompTIA Security+

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,400,000.00 per year
