Job Title: VDM Wire Cutter Operator
Department: Tool Room / Mould Manufacturing
Reports To: Tool Room Supervisor / Production Manager
Job Summary
Responsible for operating VDM Wire Cut EDM machines to manufacture precision mould components as per engineering drawings while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate VDM Wire Cut EDM machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data.
- Prepare workpieces and fixtures before machining.
- Perform accurate wire cutting of mould inserts, cores, cavities, punches, dies, and precision components.
- Monitor machining parameters and make necessary adjustments.
- Inspect finished components using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Gauge, etc.).
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per specifications.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Replace wire, filters, and dielectric fluid as required.
- Record production and inspection data.
- Follow 5S, safety, and quality procedures.
- Coordinate with CNC, VMC, and Tool Room teams for job completion.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of VDM Wire Cut EDM machine operation.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Understanding of GD&T and machining tolerances.
- Knowledge of mould manufacturing processes.
- Basic troubleshooting of Wire EDM machines.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Tool & Die Making.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience operating VDM Wire Cut EDM machines, preferably in an injection mould manufacturing environment.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
