Key Responsibilities:
We seek a highly talented navigation engineer to join our inertial sensors team. The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing navigation and estimation algorithms.
Technical Skills:
- Understanding of discrete systems, discrete signal processing, and multirate systems.
- Hands-on experience in various types of mathematical modelling.
- Characterization and understanding the behaviour of nonlinear systems.
- Hands-on experience of graphical and analytical tools for system modelling, visualization, and simulations.
- Solid understanding of statistics and probability theory
- Solid knowledge of optimal estimation filters and overall estimation theory, linear and nonlinear optimal estimators
- Understanding of algorithm optimization by memory usage and computational perspective
- Knowledge of control systems fundamentals such as standard test inputs, phase and frequency response, state-space modelling, Fourier and Laplace transform.
- Fundamental understanding of classical physics, and kinematic equations.
- Fundamental understanding of basic mathematics, differentiation, integration, linear algebra, vector space, etc.
- Understanding of different reference frames used in navigation systems.
- Understanding of attitude and position estimation by different sensor fusion techniques and the role of different inertial sensors in attitude/heading/velocity/position estimation and dead reckoning.
- Understanding of different types of inertial sensors such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, inclinometers, and magnetometers.
- Understanding of navigation filters such as aided/unaided navigation, and different types of coupling used in navigation.
- Understanding of strap-down inertial navigation systems, their modes of operations, and system alignment.
- Solid understanding of Euler angles and their representation, Direction cosine, and quaternion coordinate transformations.
- Understanding of GNSS systems, working principles, and understanding of various GPS parameters.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Testing of algorithms in real-life conditions and with field data sets
- Working closely with product design teams, product owners, and application teams
- Stay up to date with the latest trends, study legacy documentation on the subject, and evolve your understanding
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency with Python/Octave for modelling, simulation and visualization
- Working knowledge of C is preferred
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, fundamental physics
- Experience with Git, SVN, and software PLM processes
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Academic Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/M.Sc in Electronics / Aerospace / Computer Science / Applied Physics / Mathematics
- Experience in DSP, sensor fusion, estimation, and control algorithms
