We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Site Supervisor to oversee the on-site installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of Fire Fighting and Fire Protection Systems. The ideal candidate will manage execution teams, ensure strict compliance with industry standards (such as NBC and ISI guidelines), and serve as the primary point of contact between the project management team, sub-contractors, and the client on the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution & Supervision: Oversee day-to-day on-site activities including the fabrication, laying, and installation of fire hydrant pipelines, sprinkler systems, fire pumps, $CO_2$/ABC extinguishers, and fire alarm networks.
- Team & Subcontractor Management: Lead and coordinate daily tasks for technicians, pipefitters, welders, and laborers. Ensure manpower is optimally utilized to meet project timelines.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Inspect incoming materials and ongoing installations to ensure they adhere strictly to approved engineering drawings, ISI marks, and safety regulations.
- Testing & Commissioning: Supervise and document critical safety tests, including hydrostatic pressure testing of pipelines, pump room testing, and functional testing of fire smoke detectors and alarm panels.
- Site Safety Management: Enforce strict workplace safety protocols. Ensure all site workers use mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate daily progress reports (DPR), material consumption logs, measurement sheets, and site attendance records. Report project updates and roadblocks regularly to the Project Manager.
- Client & Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with client representatives for routine site inspections, work clearances (work permits), and final handovers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Any graduation.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven experience supervising fire fighting or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) projects on construction sites, warehouses, or industrial plants.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of Fire Hydrant layouts, Sprinkler networks, Main Electrical Pumps, and Jockey Pumps.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret MEP drawings, schematic diagrams, and structural blueprints.
- Soft Skills: Solid leadership and team management abilities, effective verbal communication, and quick problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Physical Fitness: Must be comfortable working in active construction environments, managing outdoor site conditions, and standing or walking for extended periods.
