Profile Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Manager to lead the Procurement Department in a luxury furniture manufacturing company. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional sourcing capabilities, strong vendor development expertise, commercial negotiation skills, and complete control over procurement operations. The role requires ensuring timely availability of quality materials at optimum cost while maintaining uninterrupted production and achieving cost optimization.
The Purchase Manager will be responsible for developing strategic vendor partnerships, strengthening the procurement process, monitoring procurement KPIs, and leading the purchase team to achieve departmental objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Development
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for all furniture manufacturing materials.
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard reliable vendors across India and internationally.
- Build a strong alternate vendor base to reduce supply risks.
- Conduct regular market research for new materials, technologies, and suppliers.
- Source premium materials suitable for luxury furniture manufacturing.
- Continuously benchmark market prices and negotiate favorable commercial terms.
2. Procurement Planning
- Prepare procurement plans based on production forecasts and project requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, hardware, veneers, plywood, MDF, laminates, fabrics, leather, foam, metal components, glass, marble, packaging materials, adhesives, paints, polish materials, and consumables.
- Coordinate closely with PPC, Production, Design, Engineering, Stores, and Projects.
- Ensure zero production stoppage due to material shortages.
3. Vendor Management
- Develop long-term relationships with strategic vendors.
- Conduct vendor audits and periodic performance evaluations.
- Monitor vendor quality, delivery performance, pricing, and service levels.
- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, shortages, and commercial disputes.
- Maintain approved vendor lists and supplier scorecards.
4. Commercial Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, credit periods, delivery schedules, freight, warranties, and annual rate contracts.
- Achieve annual cost-saving targets through effective negotiations.
- Finalize commercial agreements while protecting company interests.
5. Purchase Operations
- Ensure timely processing of Purchase Requisitions (PR) into Purchase Orders (PO).
- Monitor pending purchase orders and follow up with vendors.
- Ensure adherence to procurement SOPs and approval matrix.
- Verify all purchase documentation before release.
6. Inventory Optimization
- Work closely with Stores and PPC to maintain optimum inventory levels.
- Reduce excess inventory and eliminate obsolete stock.
- Improve inventory turnover.
- Monitor slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
7. Cost Control
- Identify cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality.
- Conduct value engineering for alternate materials.
- Track procurement savings and prepare monthly cost-saving reports.
- Improve procurement efficiency through process optimization.
8. Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the purchase team.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor departmental productivity.
- Conduct regular team reviews and performance evaluations.
- Develop procurement SOPs and best practices.

11. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies.
- Maintain complete procurement documentation.
- Ensure ethical procurement practices.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure statutory compliance wherever applicable.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, Production, Commerce, or Business Administration.
- MBA in Supply Chain / Operations / Procurement is preferred.
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the furniture manufacturing, interior fit-out, modular furniture, or luxury furniture industry.
- Proven expertise in sourcing premium furniture materials and developing high-performing supplier networks.
- Demonstrated success in sourcing luxury furniture materials and imported products.
- Strong network of suppliers across wood, hardware, upholstery, metal, glass, marble, and finishing materials.
- Ability to build strategic vendor partnerships while achieving measurable cost savings.
- Hands-on experience leading a procurement team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication, commercial acumen, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
