Position: Design Manager – Mechanical/Electrical/HVAC (MEP)
Location: Delhi, India
Project: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Projects
An MEP, HVAC/Electrical/Mechanical Design Manager leads and oversees the design, development, and implementation of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems for projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Management:
- Lead and manage the MEP design phase of metro projects from concept to completion.
- Oversee the development of MEP design documents, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
- Ensure that MEP designs are in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and applicable codes and regulations.
- Review and approve design changes, value engineering proposals, and technical submittals.
2. Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and expertise in MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical systems, fire protection, and other related systems.
- Resolve technical issues and challenges during the design phase.
- Conduct design reviews and inspections to identify and address any design-related issues.
3. Team Leadership:
- Manage a team of MEP engineers and designers, assigning tasks and responsibilities.
- Foster a collaborative work environment and ensure effective communication within the team.
- Mentor and train team members to enhance their technical skills.
4. Coordination and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, including civil engineering, structural engineering, and architecture, to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall metro project.
- Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the delivery of high-quality MEP designs.
- Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies in public meetings to support the client in matters related to MEP works.
5. Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control processes to review and assess the accuracy and completeness of MEP design deliverables.
- Monitor and control the MEP design budget to ensure that the project stays within budget constraints.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in HVAC load calculations, system design, and proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, and BIM tools.
- Leadership Skills: Strong team management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications: Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) and memberships in professional organizations (e.g., ASHRAE, IET) are advantageous.
Experience:
Minimum Experience: 2 Years, Good Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical design field.
Maximum Experience – 10 Years and above Good Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical design field.
Metro experience is preferrable.
