Retail Trainer
Role Summary
The Retail Trainer is responsible for developing the knowledge, skills, and performance of store employees through training programs, coaching, and performance support. The role ensures that staff understand products, customer service standards, sales techniques, operational procedures, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver training programs for store associates, supervisors, and managers.
- Conduct onboarding and induction training for new hires.
- Train employees on product knowledge, sales techniques, customer service, and store operations.
- Assess training needs through performance reviews, store visits, and feedback.
- Monitor employee performance and recommend development plans.
- Develop training materials, manuals, presentations, and e-learning content.
- Conduct refresher training and coaching sessions.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using assessments, observations, and KPIs.
- Support the implementation of new products, promotions, and operational processes.
- Maintain training records and prepare training reports.
Required Skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of retail operations and customer service.
- Sales coaching and performance management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and learning management systems (preferred).
- Ability to travel between store locations if required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field.
- 4–6+ years of experience in retail training, store operations, or learning & development.
- Experience in classroom and on-the-job training.
