Job Title: Hospital Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reports To: Finance Manager / Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Job Summary
The Hospital Accountant manages day-to-day accounting activities, prepares financial reports, monitors budgets, processes payments, and ensures compliance with healthcare accounting standards and government regulations. They work closely with hospital administration, billing departments, and auditors to maintain financial accuracy and transparency.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the hospital's financial records and general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and hospital accounts.
- Monitor patient billing, insurance claims, and revenue collections.
- Process payroll and employee reimbursements.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards, and healthcare policies.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
- Track hospital expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare financial reports for management review.
- Maintain accurate records of medical equipment purchases and asset depreciation.
- Support procurement and inventory accounting processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CA, CMA, ACCA, or CPA are an advantage.
- Experience in hospital, healthcare, or medical accounting preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or hospital ERP systems).
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and taxation.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
