Job Description (JD) – IP & OP Executive (Hospital)
Experience: Fresher to 2 Years
Department: In-Patient (IP) & Out-Patient (OP) Services

Position Summary
The IP & OP Executive is responsible for managing patient registration, admissions, billing coordination, appointment scheduling, and ensuring smooth patient flow in both inpatient and outpatient departments. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centric approach.
Key ResponsibilitiesOut-Patient (OP) Responsibilities
- Register new patients and update existing patient records in the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments with doctors and departments.
- Guide patients regarding consultation procedures, diagnostics, and hospital services.
- Verify patient details, insurance information, and required documentation.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and diagnostic departments to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Handle patient inquiries, feedback, and basic complaints professionally.
In-Patient (IP) Responsibilities
- Process patient admissions, transfers, and discharge formalities.
- Prepare and maintain admission records and patient documentation.
- Coordinate with nursing stations, consultants, and billing teams regarding patient admissions and discharges.
- Ensure timely completion of discharge processes and documentation.
- Assist patients and attendants with room allocation and hospital policies.
- Support insurance and TPA documentation as required.
Billing & Administrative Responsibilities
- Generate bills and receipts as per hospital policies.
- Maintain accurate patient records and data entry.
- Coordinate with insurance/TPA teams for cashless and reimbursement cases.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and patient confidentiality standards.
- Prepare daily reports and MIS as required by management.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of patient records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline (Healthcare Administration preferred).
- Diploma or certification in Hospital Administration is an added advantage.
- Freshers and candidates with up to 2 years of experience in hospitals, clinics, or healthcare facilities can apply.
Required Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of hospital operations and patient management.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Customer service orientation and professional attitude.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
