Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Onsite Life400 / SMART400 Consultant with extensive expertise in DXC/CSC Life400 (LifeAsia) core insurance applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. As the primary onsite technical point of contact, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders, local product owners, and offshore delivery teams. This role requires a perfect balance of strong legacy technical engineering skills, deep life insurance domain knowledge, and exceptional client-facing communication to drive system enhancements, handle complex production support escalations, and manage delivery lifecycles directly at the client premises
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary technical point of contact at the client site for all Life400/SMART400 related core systems.
Collaborate closely with business analysts, local product owners, and end-users to gather, clarify, and challenge business requirements.
Translate complex functional requirements into clear, robust technical specifications and architectural workflows for the offshore development team.
Manage local client expectations, provide regular project status updates, and participate actively in critical architecture and change control board reviews.
Skill Requirements
Core Legacy Ecosystem: DXC Life400 / LifeAsia, SMART400 Framework
Programming Languages: COBOL/400, ILE COBOL, CL/CLLE (Control Language)
Database Management: DB2/400, SQL/400 (Advanced querying, table design, and performance tuning)
IBM i (AS/400) Utilities: Query/400, WRKACTJOB, WRKSPLF, Interactive Debugger
Operations & Batch: Batch Job Architecture, Job Schedulers, System Diagnostics, and Error Handling
Integration Patterns: SOAP/REST APIs, Web Services, XML, JSON integration formats
Other Requirements
Front-End Operations: New Business, Underwriting engine, Product system Configuration.
Policy Management: Policy Administration, Policy Servicing, Reinstatements, Alterations
Financials & Math: Premium Processing, Billing & Collections, Agent & Commission Management, Loan Processing
