Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Millet Processing Farmer Producer Company (FPC)
Location: Dindori District, Madhya Pradesh
Organization Type: Large-scale Millet Producer Company/FPO
Annual Turnover Target: ₹10–25 Crore within 5 years
Farmer Members: 5,000–15,000 small and tribal farmers
Background
The FPO is engaged in aggregation, processing, branding, and marketing of millets (Kodo, Kutki, Ragi, Jowar, Bajra and value-added millet products) from tribal farmers of Dindori district. The CEO will lead business operations, value chain development, market expansion, processing unit management, and institutional partnerships to ensure sustainable income enhancement for member farmers. FPOs play a critical role in aggregation, processing, value addition, and market linkage of millet produce.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement a 5-year business growth strategy.
- Increase annual turnover and profitability of the FPO.
- Identify new markets for millet grains and processed products.
- Establish linkages with retail chains, e-commerce platforms, institutional buyers, exporters, and government procurement agencies.
- Develop branding and packaging strategy for millet products.
- Promote B2B and B2C sales channels.

2. Millet Processing Unit Management
- Manage millet cleaning, grading, de-husking, milling, packaging and storage operations.
- Ensure food safety and quality compliance.
- Obtain and maintain:
- FSSAI License
- AGMARK Certification
- Organic Certification (where applicable)
- GST Compliance
- Improve processing efficiency and reduce wastage.
- Introduce value-added products such as:
- Millet Flour
- Ready-to-Cook Mixes
- Millet Cookies
- Millet Noodles
- Millet Snacks
- Millet Nutrition Products
Processing and value addition significantly enhance farmer returns and strengthen millet value chains.
3. Farmer Mobilization & Member Services
- Strengthen farmer membership base.
- Facilitate shareholder mobilization and equity contribution.
- Conduct village-level awareness campaigns.
- Promote climate-resilient millet cultivation practices.
- Facilitate input supply, extension services and aggregation.

- Ensure positive cash flow and profitability.
5. Fund Mobilization & Partnerships
Develop partnerships with:
- NABARD

- National Rural Livelihood Mission
Explore grants and schemes including:
- Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF)
- PMFME

6. Governance & Compliance
- Serve as secretary to the Board of Directors.
- Organize Board and AGM meetings.
- Ensure statutory compliance under Companies Act.
- Prepare annual reports and business performance reports.
- Maintain transparency and good governance practices. FPO CEOs are expected to manage day-to-day operations while working under the direction of the Board.
7. Market Linkages & Supply Chain
- Establish procurement centers.
- Develop warehousing and logistics systems.
- Build partnerships with:
- Modern Retail
- Government Procurement Agencies
- Food Processing Companies
- Export Houses
- E-commerce platforms
- Improve price realization for member farmers.
8. Women Enterprise Development
- Promote women-led millet enterprises.
- Strengthen SHG-FPO convergence.
- Develop women entrepreneurs in:

9. Climate Resilience & Sustainability
- Promote low-carbon millet production systems.
- Support organic and natural farming.
- Encourage regenerative agriculture.
- Measure carbon and water footprint reduction.
- Promote climate-smart agriculture practices.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- MBA (Agribusiness/Marketing/Rural Management)
- B.Sc./M.Sc. Agriculture
- Rural Management / Food Technology / Agri Engineering Preferred
- PGDRM from reputed institute
Experience
Essential
- Minimum 7–10 years experience in:
- FPO Management
- Agribusiness / marketing
