Junior Civil Engineer
Job description:
We are looking for a versatile Junior Civil Engineer to join our team. This role is unique as it requires a candidate capable of handling both infrastructure development (roads, drainage, and utilities) and building construction. You will be responsible for on-site supervision, quality control, and ensuring that projects are executed according to technical specifications and timelines and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Execution
- Supervise daily site activities for both infrastructure works (roads, plotting, leveling, drainage) and building construction.
- Ensure execution aligns perfectly with Approved-for-Construction (AFC) drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate daily with contractors, subcontractors, and site labor to maintain project momentum.
2. Quality Control & Safety
- Inspect incoming materials (cement, steel, aggregates, pipes) and conduct field tests.
- Identify and report construction defects or deviations from drawings immediately.
- Enforce site safety protocols and ensure workers use appropriate PPE.
3. Quantity Surveying & Billing
- Assist in taking site measurements and preparing Bar Bending Schedules (BBS).
- Verify subcontractor measurements and assist in processing running account (RA) bills.
- Track material consumption on-site to minimize wastage.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain the Daily Progress Report (DPR), site pour cards, and material registers.
- Help the senior team prepare checklists, site logs, and look-ahead schedules.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on site experience in both building construction and infrastructure/land development projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading architectural, structural, and MEP/Infrastructure drawings.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel (for reporting and BBS).
- Familiarity with IS codes for concrete, steel, and earthwork.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills to manage on-site labor and contractors.
- High problem-solving agility and attention to detail.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
