The Ambulance Assistant is responsible for assisting the ambulance driver and medical team in providing safe, timely, and efficient transportation and basic support to patients during emergency and non-emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in safely transferring patients to and from the ambulance.
- Support paramedics, nurses, or other medical staff during patient transportation.
- Check and maintain basic medical equipment, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, wheelchairs, and other required supplies.
- Assist patients and their family members during transportation.
- Help in maintaining patient comfort and safety during transit.
- Report shortages, damaged equipment, or vehicle-related issues to the concerned authority.
- Assist in maintaining records of ambulance trips and patient transportation details.
- Follow hospital protocols, emergency procedures, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or certification in healthcare, emergency care, or first aid will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and patient handling.
- Knowledge of ambulance equipment and emergency procedures will be an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient during emergencies.
- Basic understanding of patient safety and hygiene.
