Job Summary
The Assistant QC Manager will lead the Quality Control function, ensuring products meet internal quality standards, regulatory guidelines, and cGMP requirements. This role includes overseeing analytical testing, method development and validation, laboratory operations, and documentation, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and collaborating with QA, Production, and R&D teams.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the QC team to ensure efficient and compliant laboratory operations.
Oversee analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
Manage procurement, calibration, maintenance, and qualification of laboratory equipment to ensure reliable and compliant operations.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures, SOPs.
Ensure all testing is performed according to approved methods for compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
Review and approve analytical results, reports, and Certificates of Analysis (CoA).
Manage method development, validation, and transfer activities for new and existing products.
Conduct stability studies, shelf-life evaluation, and sample retention programs.
Ensure accurate recording, review, and reporting of QC data with data integrity requirements.
Maintain and control QC documentation, including SOPs, test methods, and records.
Monitor compliance with cGMP, ISO, FSSAI, FDA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
Support internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and audit readiness.
Assist in investigation of deviations and implementation of corrective actions.
Reduce errors, deviations, and rework to improve product quality.
Analyze QC data and generate reports to support decision-making.
Train and guide QC staff on analytical techniques, quality systems, and best practices.
Collaborate with QA, Production, and R&D teams to ensure consistent product quality.
Monitor and report QC performance indicators, including testing efficiency, deviation trends.
Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
6–8 years of experience in Quality Control within nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, functional foods, or pharmaceutical ingredients.
Good understanding of cGMP, ISO, FSSAI, and FDA regulations.
Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, dissolution testing, and related methods.
Proven expertise in method development and validation, stability studies, and laboratory management.
Leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
