Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible and technically sound Factory Supervisor with a Mechanical Engineering qualification to manage day-to-day factory operations, supervise production activities, ensure manpower utilization, and maintain quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily factory and production activities.
- Plan and allocate work to operators, fitters, welders, and other production workers.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of targets.
- Supervise the operation and maintenance of mechanical machinery and equipment.
- Identify machine breakdowns and coordinate with the maintenance team for quick resolution.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machines, tools, and materials.
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with production specifications.
- Maintain daily production, manpower, machine, and material records.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and HR departments.
- Ensure workers follow company safety rules and SOPs.
- Conduct regular inspection of machines, tools, and workplace conditions.
- Minimize production downtime, wastage, and rejection.
- Train and guide workers regarding work procedures, safety, and machine handling.
- Report production issues, machine problems, quality concerns, and manpower requirements to management.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S practices on the shop floor.
- Handle day-to-day worker discipline and operational issues.
- Implement management instructions and ensure proper execution on the shop floor.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Good understanding of factory machinery and production operations.
- Strong manpower handling and supervisory skills.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of production planning and shop-floor management.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve production targets.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and 5S practices.
Mandatory Requirement
Mechanical Engineering qualification (Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech.) is mandatory.
Candidates without a Mechanical Engineering qualification will not be considered.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in an engineering/manufacturing/fabrication factory.
- Experience handling shop-floor manpower.
- Experience with CNC, fabrication, welding, cutting, or other industrial machinery will be an advantage.
- Previous experience as a Factory Supervisor / Production Supervisor / Shop Floor Supervisor will be preferred.
