- Dispensing & Compounding: Accurately interpreting prescriptions, verifying dosage amounts, and preparing/packaging medication safely.
- Patient Counseling: Instructing patients on how to properly take their medication, potential side effects, and correct storage.
- Safety Checks: Reviewing patient medical history and current drug regimens to prevent allergic reactions or adverse drug-to-drug interactions.
- Healthcare Collaboration: Consulting with physicians and nurses to optimize patient therapy and resolve prescription or billing inconsistencies.
- Clinical Services: Conducting comprehensive medication reviews and, in many regions, administering vaccinations and performing health screenings (e.g., blood pressure, cholesterol).
- Inventory & Compliance: Managing pharmacy stock, ensuring drugs are stored under proper conditions, and adhering to strict legal and regulatory guidelines.
