Position: Dietician
Department: Clinical / Wellness
Location: Belvaa Senior Care
Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Weekly Off: Sunday
Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹25,000 per month
Experience: 1–3 years preferred
About the Role
We are looking for a qualified and compassionate Dietician to plan, monitor, and manage nutritional requirements for senior citizens and residents. The candidate will work closely with doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, caregivers, and the kitchen team to ensure residents receive safe, nutritious, and personalized meals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct nutritional assessments of residents based on their health condition, age, dietary needs, and medical history.
- Prepare individualized diet plans for residents.
- Plan therapeutic diets for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiac conditions, kidney-related concerns, obesity, and other medical requirements.
- Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding dietary restrictions and nutritional recommendations.
- Prepare daily and weekly meal plans in coordination with the kitchen team.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, nutritional value, and meal presentation.
- Ensure prescribed diets are followed accurately by the kitchen and caregiving teams.
- Regularly monitor residents' weight, appetite, nutritional intake, and overall dietary progress.
- Maintain proper nutrition records and resident diet charts.
- Conduct regular nutrition counselling for residents and, where required, their family members.
- Educate caregivers and kitchen staff regarding special diets, food allergies, hygiene, and nutritional requirements.
- Monitor food allergies, intolerances, and special dietary preferences.
- Participate in resident care meetings and provide nutritional recommendations.
- Conduct periodic kitchen inspections to ensure compliance with prescribed diets and nutrition standards.
- Ensure proper documentation and timely updating of diet plans.
- Support wellness and health-promotion activities for residents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics / Nutrition / Food & Nutrition.
- Relevant experience in a hospital, senior care facility, rehabilitation centre, or similar healthcare environment is preferred.
- Good knowledge of therapeutic and geriatric nutrition.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient approach toward senior citizens.
- Ability to work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, caregivers, and kitchen staff.
- Good documentation and organizational skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of senior citizen nutrition and geriatric dietary requirements.
- Ability to prepare practical and culturally appropriate meal plans.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good counselling and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple residents and dietary requirements efficiently.
