Job Summary
Asahi India Glass Ltd. (AIS) is looking for a dedicated and proactive Pallet Repair & Maintenance Incharge to oversee pallet repair, maintenance, inventory management, and operational availability. The role is responsible for ensuring sufficient pallets are available for production and dispatch while maintaining safety, quality, and operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesPallet Repair & Maintenance
- Plan and execute timely repair and maintenance of damaged wooden pallets.
- Ensure adequate pallet availability for production and dispatch operations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to maximize pallet life.
- Coordinate procurement of repair materials and consumables.
- Monitor pallet quality and identify replacement requirements.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Maintain accurate pallet inventory records.
- Perform regular physical stock verification and inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and movement of pallets.
- Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Dispatch, and Logistics teams.
Process Improvement
- Improve pallet utilization and reduce repair costs.
- Implement Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Minimize pallet-related operational delays and losses.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness activities.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Support internal and external safety audits.
Team Management
- Guide and supervise technicians and operators.
- Allocate daily work and monitor performance.
- Support employee training and skill development.
- Encourage teamwork and continuous improvement culture.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timely completion of pallet repairs.
- Pallet availability for production and dispatch.
- Inventory accuracy.
- Reduction in pallet damage and operational downtime.
- Safety compliance and audit performance.
- Kaizen implementation and productivity improvements.
Education
- ITI – Fitter or Welder (Mandatory/Preferred)
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with relevant technical qualifications and industrial experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in pallet repair, maintenance, warehouse operations, logistics, manufacturing, packaging, or material handling.
- Experience in a manufacturing plant is preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of pallet repair and maintenance.
- Inventory control and warehouse operations.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word).
- ERP/SAP knowledge is an added advantage.
- Good planning, coordination, and communication skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Understanding of industrial safety practices.
- Continuous improvement and Kaizen mindset.
