Overview:
Seeking an experienced Chassis Design & Release Engineer with expertise in the design, development, validation, and release of chassis systems including Suspension (Structural & Tunable Components), Steering, Brakes, Wheels & Tires, Pedal Systems, Mounts & Bushings, Corner Modules, and Chassis Accessories. The role involves end-to-end product development, supplier coordination, CAD/PLM management, vehicle integration, validation, and quality improvement activities while ensuring delivery of cost, quality, and timing targets in an automotive OEM/Tier-1 environment. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, durability, NVH, suspension kinematics, and automotive product development processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, validation, and release of Chassis systems and components for current and future vehicle programs.

Own engineering activities for one or more chassis domains including:

Suspension Structural Components (Control Arms, Links, Cradles, Twist Beams, Knuckles, Hub & Bearing Assemblies, Ball Joints, Frames, Fasteners)

Suspension Tunable Components (Shock Absorbers, Struts, Springs, Stabilizer Bars, Bushings, Top Mounts, Jounce Bumpers, Corner Modules)

Wheels & Tires

Pedal Systems

Chassis Accessories and Underbody Protection Systems

Perform component design, CAD development, packaging studies, tolerance analysis, and BOM/PLM management.

Define system requirements, performance targets, durability objectives, and development plans to meet vehicle quality, cost, weight, and timing targets.

Manage end-to-end product development activities including requirement definition, supplier selection, technical reviews, design validation, testing, and engineering change management.

Develop and maintain DFMEA, DVP&R, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP documentation, and support product validation activities.

Support vehicle dynamics, suspension kinematics, wheel alignment, durability, fatigue, NVH, handling, stiffness, and homologation requirements.

Coordinate with suppliers on design reviews, tooling, manufacturing feasibility, process validation, quality improvements, and production readiness.

Support prototype, DV, PV, pilot, and production builds, ensuring successful vehicle integration and launch readiness.

Investigate and resolve design, manufacturing, assembly, field quality, and warranty issues using structured root cause analysis methodologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including CAE, Testing, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Supplier Quality, Vehicle Integration, and Program Management.

Drive value engineering, cost optimization, benchmarking, innovation, and supplier development initiatives to achieve program targets.

Ensure timely delivery of project milestones, quality gates, and program KPIs related to cost, quality, and schedule.
Qualifications:
B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Automotive/Mechanical/Production Engg.
Essential skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or related Engineering discipline.

6–8 years of experience in automotive OEM or Tier-1 product development within Chassis systems and components.

Experience in one or more areas such as Suspension (Structural/Tunable), Steering, Brakes, Wheels & Tires, Pedal Systems, Mounts & Bushings, Corner Modules, or Chassis Accessories.

Hands-on experience with CATIA/NX, Teamcenter/PLM, BOM management, supplier coordination, and product development processes.

Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, suspension kinematics, wheel alignment, durability, fatigue, NVH, handling, stiffness, and chassis system integration.

Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, PFMEA, PPAP, root cause analysis, manufacturing processes, and validation methodologies.

Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
