Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Snowflake Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize the Snowflake data platform. The candidate will be responsible for Snowflake environment administration, security management, performance tuning, cost optimization, user access control, and supporting data engineering and analytics teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Snowflake environments across development, testing, and production.
- Configure and manage Snowflake warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, and users.
- Implement security best practices including RBAC, network policies, MFA, and data encryption.
- Monitor Snowflake usage, query performance, storage, and compute costs.
- Perform performance tuning and query optimization.
- Manage data sharing, replication, cloning, and failover configurations.
- Support ETL/ELT workflows and integrations with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Automate administrative tasks using scripting languages like Python, Shell, or Terraform.
- Troubleshoot Snowflake-related issues and provide production support.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, architects, and business teams.
- Maintain documentation for Snowflake architecture, processes, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with governance, security, and audit requirements.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Strong experience with Snowflake administration and architecture.
- Good knowledge of SQL and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Experience with access management and security implementation.
- Knowledge of monitoring and cost optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure automation tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with tools like Airflow, dbt, Informatica, Matillion, or Talend.
- Knowledge of Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with data governance and compliance standards.
- Snowflake certifications are an added advantage.
Good to Have Skills:
- SnowPro Certification
- Experience in Agile environments
- Knowledge of DevOps and DataOps practices
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Snowflake.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
