At MCD BERL, you will contribute to flood risk assessment projects across urban districts and developments, and work on net-zero water strategies, where we design systems to minimize freshwater demand through reuse, recharge, and closed-loop water planning.
You will work closely with senior consultants, architects, and client teams to translate technical analysis into actionable, design-ready solutions.
Support delivery of client-facing assignments in :
- Flood risk assessment and mitigation planning
- Watershed and catchment analysis
- Net-zero water and water resilience strategies
- Develop and run hydrological and hydraulic models (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS/GMS) to evaluate flood scenarios
- Use QGIS to generate spatial analysis, floodplain maps, and decision-support visuals
- Translate modelling outputs into clear insights, reports, and presentations for clients
- Assist in preparing concept designs and technical recommendations for stormwater management, recharge systems, and blue-green infrastructure
- Participate in client discussions, workshops, and technical reviews
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (planning, landscape, MEP, sustainability)
Working proficiency in :
- QGIS (mandatory)
- HEC-RAS (1D/2D flood modelling)
- HEC-HMS / HEC-GMS
Strong understanding of :
- Hydrology, drainage systems, and watershed processes
- Flood modelling workflows and data interpretation
- Ability to synthesize data into client-ready outputs (maps, dashboards, concise reports)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
What Will Set You Apart :
- Exposure to flood modelling / watershed projects through internships or academic work
- Interest in nature-based solutions, sponge city concepts, and water-sensitive urban design
- Basic knowledge of Python / GIS automation

Consulting Mindset We Value :
- Structured thinking and problem-solving approach
- Ability to work under timelines and adapt to evolving client requirements
- Attention to detail with a focus on practical, implementable solutions
- Ownership of deliverables, even at an early career stage
Consulting Mindset We Value :
▪ Work on live flood risk and climate resilience projects across urban developments
