Our production house is located in Katargam, Surat, where we manage complete jewellery manufacturing operations with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and timely delivery.
Job Summary
We are looking for a strong and experienced Operations Manager to independently manage the overall operations of our jewellery manufacturing unit in Katargam.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in jewellery manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, strong communication, and the ability to confidently handle client conversations and business requirements.
The role requires someone who can effectively manage production teams, coordinate with clients and the B2B office team, resolve operational challenges, and ensure orders are completed as per quality and delivery commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production Management
- Manage overall day-to-day operations of the Katargam production factory unit.
- Oversee the complete jewellery manufacturing process from order planning to final dispatch.
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are achieved.
- Monitor production stages including casting, polishing, setting, finishing, and QC.
- Identify production delays, bottlenecks, and operational issues and take immediate corrective action.
Client Communication & Coordination
- Communicate confidently with B2B clients regarding production status, order requirements, timelines, specifications, and delivery commitments.
- Understand client requirements and ensure accurate communication to the respective internal teams.
- Handle client queries, concerns, and production-related issues professionally.
- Provide timely updates to clients and ensure commitments are properly followed.
- Coordinate between clients, B2B Sales/Office team, and the production unit to ensure smooth order execution.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage production supervisors, craftsmen, polishers, setters, QC, and other manufacturing staff.
- Demonstrate excellent leadership skills and maintain strong team discipline.
- Allocate manpower and resources according to production requirements.
- Set clear expectations and ensure accountability across teams.
- Monitor team productivity, performance, attendance, and discipline.
- Motivate teams and resolve internal operational conflicts effectively.
- Take ownership of production performance and team outcomes.
Planning & Coordination
- Plan production according to order priorities and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, QC, Inventory, Dispatch, and B2B Sales teams.
- Ensure smooth flow of orders and materials across departments.
- Prioritize urgent and high-value orders based on business requirements.
Material & Inventory Control
- Monitor gold and diamond inventory and consumption.
- Control gold/diamond loss, wastage, and production variances.
- Ensure proper material movement and accountability at every production stage.
- Maintain strong control over production-related materials and finished goods.
Process Improvement & Quality
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement practical improvements.
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs and production processes.
- Improve productivity, quality, turnaround time, and overall operational efficiency.
- Work closely with QC to reduce defects, rework, and production losses.
Must-Have Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in jewellery manufacturing operations.
- Strong experience managing a jewellery production unit.
- Excellent knowledge of casting, polishing, setting, finishing, and QC processes.
- Excellent communication and client-handling skills.
- Proven ability to confidently handle client conversations and negotiations related to production, timelines, and requirements.
- Excellent leadership and team-management skills.
- Experience managing multiple departments and production teams.
- Strong knowledge of gold and diamond inventory, consumption, loss, and wastage control.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
